ORMOND BEACH -- A dolphin that washed ashore Thursday is being cared for by SeaWorld in Orlando, beach officials said.

Ormond Beach resident John Meade was among the first beach-goers to come across the dolphin earlier in the day "tumbling and tossing with the surf."

ORMOND BEACH -- City Engineer John Noble will be the City Manager Ed Kelley's “guest walker” 8 a.m. Friday, June 28, and he will speak about the current utility, stormwater and roadway improvements underway in the Hand Avenue area along with the added park benefits that will result from the project.

“Walking with the Manager" will begin at the public parking area for Central Park located on the north side of Hand Avenue and east of Oak Brook Drive. The walk will be approximately 2 miles.

ORMOND BEACH -- A former accountant who bragged of spending $7,000 of the thousands of dollars she alledgedly pilfered from her employer while working as an accountant, has been arrested on theft charges after being taken into custody in North Carolina, a Volusia County Sheriff's official said.
