Major accident closes eastbound lanes of I-4 near State Road 44

DELAND -- The eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 at State Road 44 were closed to traffic late Friday night and early into this morning because of a major accident with injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
No fatalities were reported in the 10 p.m. accident, the FHP reported, but traffic was backed up to the St. Johns River Bridge.
That entrance ramp takes motorists to New Smyrna Beach on S.R. 44.
