Motorcyclist killed in Deltona crash
DELTONA -- A motorcyclist lost his life late Friday afternoon in a collision with a car near the
intersection of Haulover Boulevard and Blackburn Avenue in Deltona, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.
The biker, whose name was not released, was thrown from the motorcycle in the collision with a Nissan Altima and was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:30 p.m. accident, Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said.
The driver of the car, whose name was immediately known was uninjured and was alone in the car.
The accident has temporarily shut down traffic along Haulover Boulevard.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
Information on what kind of motorcycle and whether the rider was wearing a helmet was not immediately available.
