Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach will hold auditions in August for 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat'

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The New Smyrna Beach Little Theatre will hold auditions from for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28, at the theater, 726 East Third Ave. on the beachside.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical with lyrics by Tim Rice. The story is based on the "coat of many colors" story of Joseph from the Hebrew Bible's Book of Genesis.

Casting will include adults, young adults ages 13-17, children ages 8-12 and parts for dancers. There will be 11 performances for “Joseph” beginning Oct. 13 and ending Oct. 30. Dance, chorus, ensemble and solo rehearsals will begin Sept. 6.

An accompanist will be available for auditions. Those auditioning will be taught a dance combination as well singing. Auditioning with tracks is encouraged.

“Joseph” will be co-directed by Ted Pack and Shelly Wawrzonek. Musical Direction and additional dance arrangements are by Dr. Richard Martorano.
