ORANGE CITY -- James Otis Young is a 67-year-old man who lives alone just outside the Orange City limits, the lines on his face giving away his age. But Young had a deep-seeded dirty secret, according to Volusia County deputies who arrested him Monday: Images of 10 pre-pubescent children in various sex acts with each other were seized from his home computer, according to a charging affidavit released to the media with the announcement of his incarceration at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.
Young's Montrose Avenue home was entered by law enforcement in October where the images of children were found in his computer; the oldest a pair of 9-year-olds, two 8-year-olds as well as a 7-year-old, a 5-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, all engaged in sex acts or posing in a lewd fashion while naked, according to the arrest report.
Young told investigators he didn't know the children involved and had never been in physical contact with any children for sexual situations and he only downloaded the images for his own personal use via software from Frostwire, a peer-sharing program, according to the report.
James Otis Young was arrested Monday after the nearly five-month investigation. Because of his age, he could end up spending the rest of his life in prison, if convicted of the felony charges.
