New Smyrna Beach cops: Motorist arrested on fourth DUI charge

VCBJ mug /Monte Henkenberns blew a .132 in a breathalyzer test, more than three times the legal threshold of .08 for drunken driving when he was arrested Sunday.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- When Monte Andrew Henkenberns was pulled over early Sunday in the 500 block of South Peninsula Avenue, it marked the fourth time he'd been arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
Not only that, the 34-year-old motorist was behind the wheel of a car despite the fact that his driver'd license was suspended, New Smyrna Beach police said of the 2:16 a.m. arrest.
Henkenberms failed a field sobriety test and twice blew well above the .08 threshold for intoxication, the first time .132 and the second time he registered .128, according to a police report.
Henkenberm was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail on $3,000 bond. A relative retrieved the car at the scene, which belonged to another family member.
Because of the multiple DUI arrests previously, this DUI charge is a felony that could land him a prison sentence, if convicted at trial.
