NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Suzanne Kosmas of New Smyrna Beach was sworn into office Tuesday as part of the 111th Congress.
Kosmas, a Democrat, won the right to represent District 24 with a major victory in the November elections over three-term incumbent Republican Tom Feeney of Oviedo, garnering 61.49 percent of the vote to his 36.58 percent. Guarev Bhola, an Orlando independent, received 1.92 percent.
The 24th District includes parts of Orange, Seminole, Brevard and Volusia counties, including greater New Smyrna Beach.
