Flare Elliott, a Canal Street merchant and one of the leaders of the Friends of Historic Canal Street, is excited that the FEC has a train passing through New Smyrna Beach next month to deliver toys for tots.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Who needs a sleigh when there's a train? The Florida East Coast "Toys For Tots" Train will stop in New Smyrna Beach on Dec. 11 at Myrtle Avenue and the tracks.

Here are some of the programs available at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, ongoing through Nov. 13:

Exhibition: Works by Master Artists Svetlana Chmokova, Paul Pope, and Craig Thompson Opening reception: 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 15.

This exhibit features the work of Master Artists-in-Residence for ACA's themed Graphic Novel/Sequential Art Residency (Oct. 11-31): Svetlana Chmokova, Paul Pope, and Craig Thompson.

Christmas on Canal wraps up with 'taste and tour' of historic New Smyrna Beach inns

The public keeps coming through the front door of Nuns & Roses Bed & Breakfast during the Dec. 12 "Tour and Taste" walk through the historic inns in downtown New Smyrna Beach as part of Christmas on Canal. As shown in this photo, visitors view the parlors on the first level before climbing stairs to the second level where the private suites are located.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH – Four of the city’s most established overnight accommodations were decked out in their finest holiday attire earlier this month for a bed and breakfast "Tour and Taste" as part of Historic Canal Street's wrap-up of Christmas on Canal. They included Night Swan B&B on South Riverside Drive, Kelsey’s Riverview Inn on Flagler Avenue and The Longboard Inn and Nuns & Roses B& B, both on Washington Street.
