NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Authors Steven Noll and David Tegeder will give an illustrated talk about their book, “Ditch of Dreams: The Cross Florida Barge Canal and the Struggle for Florida’s Future,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library has on display a joint exhibition by the Southeast Volusia Camera Club and the Poet’s Corner Poetry Workshop featuring photographs and poems of people. The Voices and Visions exhibit remains on display through July.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH – Fashion comes in all styles and sizes. From the elegant and the sophisticated, to the practical, whimsical, and yes, even the silliest. But no matter what was worn, the models wowed the audience during the Girls Night Out fashion show that is a part of Christmas on Canal.

Memorial service for Barbara Ann Mitchell, age 73, of Hacienda Del Rio in Edgewater, who died Tuesday at home, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, with Pastor Kyle McQuillen, Edgewater Alliance Church, officiating.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Harold and Mary Coughlin Drew, Mrs. Mitchell, a homemaker, moved to this area 25 years ago from Westford, Massachusetts. She enjoyed fishing and camping, but her special joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
