EDGEWATER -- A 10-foot alligator was captured and killed by a gaming hunter Friday afternoon after it was spotted near the entrance to the Edgewater City Hall and where narby children play, city officials said.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 53-year-old woman told police she was bitten by a stray cat in the 2000 block of South Atlantic Avenue sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
A Living Nativity scene on Canal Street Friday night brought into focus the true mean of the holiday season. Participants were from St. Paul’s Catholic Church in New Smyrna Beach. And the holiday cheer continued well into Saturday with kiddie rides and other festive activities designed to make "Christmas on Canal" a positive shopping experience for families.
