NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Headline Surfer, the 24/7 Internet newspaper here in New Smyrna Beach, is working on an open letter to Mayor Adam Barringer and City Manager Pam Brangaccio that calls for their resignations in the wake of alleged ethics violations and even more allegations of wrongdoing.

Headline Surfer is hoping to publish the open letter within the 9 o'clock hour. To clarify, that's 9 p.m., having given all involved a chance to respond to questions.

EDGEWATER -- A yard-sale fundraiser is being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday to help provide care for Amy Sue Root, the little girl struck by a motor vehicle while riding her scooter.

The fundraiser is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. all three days at 3207 Silver Palm Drive, rain or shine.

Amy Sue Root was just 8 years old when she was struck by a truck while riding her Razor scooter in her Edgewater neighborhood on Jan. 24, 2010.

DAYTONA BEACH -- The surf water temp taken by Volusia County lifeguards at the World's Most Famous Beach has been holding in the mid to lower 70's. Waves are 3 to 5 feet and choppy and the current is moving slowly to the south.
